Nonagon privacy policy

Nonagon is made by WVR Studios. In short: we don't collect any personal data. There are no accounts, no ads and no tracking. The app can share a few anonymous facts about play, which you can turn off. This page explains what the app stores, what it shares, and where.

Your progress

Your solved puzzles, times, moves and difficulty ratings are saved on your device. If you use iCloud, Nonagon also keeps a copy in your private iCloud storage so your progress follows you to your other devices. That copy belongs to your Apple Account; WVR Studios cannot see or access it. You can turn syncing off at any time in Nonagon's Settings, or delete the data from iCloud in your device's iCloud settings.

Puzzles

Each day's puzzles are generated on your device. The app doesn't download puzzles or send your answers anywhere.

Purchases

Nonagon Plus is sold through the App Store. Apple handles payment, and we never see your payment details. We only learn, on your device, whether a subscription is active so the app can unlock it.

Anonymous usage

To help us improve the puzzles, Nonagon sends a small number of anonymous events: when the app is opened, when a puzzle is opened, solved or left unsolved (with the time taken, moves and hints used), how you rated a puzzle's difficulty, and when the rules, archive or Nonagon Plus screen are opened. Each event includes your device type, iOS version and the app's version.

These events are sent to PostHog, our analytics provider, and stored in the EU. They carry a random identifier created by the app, not your name, email, Apple Account or advertising identifier. We don't build a profile of you, we switch off location lookup, and the data isn't used for advertising or shared with anyone else.

You can turn this off at any time: Nonagon → Settings → Share anonymous usage. When it's off, nothing is sent.

Children

Nonagon is suitable for all ages and collects no information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If what Nonagon shares ever changes, this policy will be updated before that happens, and the date at the top will change.
